Theatre Faculty
Christina is the Program Director for Theatre at °µTV. Prior to returning to Arizona, she served as an Assistant Professor of Educational Theatre and the Graduate Program Director of Educational Theatre for Colleges and Communities at New York University and an Assistant Professor of Performing Arts at Emerson College in Boston, MA. She is an award-winning international director and applied theatre practitioner who has had her work and research featured in Singapore, Turkey, South Africa, Jamaica, Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia.
At °µTV, she has directed Anon(ymous); Pippin; AntÃgona: las voces que encendian el desierto; la ofrenda; Picasso at the Lapin Agile; 14; Silent Sky; The Addams Family; A Doll’s House, Pt. 2; Esa Nena Rie, Esa Nena Llora, Esa Nena No Hace Nada; Xanadu; The Last 5 Years/Los Últimos 5 Años; Firebringer; and The Hero Twins: Blood Race. She has had journal articles published in Youth Theatre Journal, STAGE of the Art, and Gender Forum, and has contributed chapters to several books, including Youth and Theatre of the Oppressed, Children Under Construction: Critical Essays on Play as Curriculum, and Taking Risks: Feminist Activism and Research in the Americas.
Her work has been funded by the American Association of University Women, the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the American Alliance for Theatre and Education, and the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship through the Department of Education.

Joseph is honored to be at °µTV, where he started his college education. Recently, he’s also worked on many shows here including The Hero Twins: Blood Race, Firebringer, Lysistrata, and Exit, Pursued by a Bear. He has directed all over the country including: The Quiltmaker’s Gift (The Phoenix Theatre Company), The Last Five Years (Black Theatre Troupe), The Importance of Being Earnest (Theater Works), and Wiley and the Hairy Man (Okoboji Summer Theatre), and many more. But, in his younger days as a student at °µTV he played Bruce in Beyond Therapy. He was in the honors program here at °µTV, received his bachelors from ASU, and received his master’s from NYU. Leading off his study at NYU he spent a month in Brazil studying at the Center of the Theater of the Oppressed.

Nick is a theatre designer, director, and educator specializing in lighting design and live production. He currently serves as the Director of Production at Childsplay, Arizona’s professional theatre for young audiences, where he supports new work and collaborates with creative teams to bring dynamic stories to the stage.
With over a decade of experience in professional and educational theatre, Nick’s work encompasses plays, musicals, dance, and devised performance. Recent credits include The Hero Twins: Blood Race at °µTV, and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus with Childsplay Theatre.
Nick’s early career began with the Lyric Repertory Company in Logan, Utah, and he has since worked across regional theatres and arts organizations, with a focus on educational and youth-centered productions. In addition to his design and production work, he develops leadership-training experiences for theatre teams, blending artistic process with team-building and collaborative leadership.

Matt is an award-winning puppet designer and performer whose work has been featured on numerous stages across the country. From high schools in California to the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, Matt has created puppets of all shapes and sizes. He enjoys experimenting with various styles and mediums, many of which utilize upcycled or easy-to-come-by resources and materials. His small but mighty production company, Matt-a-Magical, is a three-time grant recipient from the Jim Henson Foundation. A second-generation puppeteer, his work was recently seen in Firebringer last spring at °µTV, Childsplay Theatre's production of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus last January, as well as his world-premiere production, Tales from the Bayou, last fall at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater, where Matt works as the Director of Fabrication and as one of their puppeteers. John is a playwright, dramaturg, theatre-maker, and educator based in Phoenix, Arizona. His work has been produced by Ronin Theatre Collaborative, TheaterWorks, Brelby Theatre Company, Laughing Pig Theatre, New York University, and Arizona State University, and featured at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, Valdez Theatre Conference, and Mid-America Theatre Conference.
As founding Artistic Director of Now & Then Creative Company, he facilitated over ten new-play workshops by Arizona writers and produced productions of Medea, Rhinoceros, and Antigone. He has served as dramaturg for The Phoenix Theatre Company’s new works festivals, including ¡´¡³¾±ð°ù¾±³¦²¹²Ô´Ç! (Off-Broadway, 2022) and Let the Goodtimes Roll: A New Orleans Jumbo (Broadway, 2026).
With over fifteen years of teaching experience, John has taught playwriting at Stockton University, ASU, Chandler-Gilbert CC, and °µTV. He is currently Head of School at Metropolitan Arts Institute and Resident Playwright at Ronin Theatre Collaborative.

Anne is an award-winning theatre director who first joined the faculty of MCCCD at Glendale Community College and Paradise Valley Community College in 2006. She has taught, designed, stage managed, and directed at colleges across the District, and professional theatre in the Valley. Anne’s favorite directing projects include Ride the Cyclone, Postmortem, Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, and Reefer Madness the Musical (°µTV), Dancing at Lughnasa (Paradise Valley Community College), and Judy: The Musical (Tempe Center for the Arts). Her tenure at °µTV since 2012 has afforded her the opportunity to help shape the curriculum and artistic offerings at °µTV. She has mentored students for competitive acting tournaments, including the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and Artists of Promise. She has conducted theatre workshops for the Arizona Thespian Festival, where she has also served as an adjudicator for college auditions.

Sarah (she/her/hers) is a theatre artist, arts administrator, teacher, and writer living, working, and creating in Phoenix, Arizona. She is a Producing Artistic Collaborator at Rising Youth Theatre, where she focuses on administrative and operational work, building systems that support radical and innovative artmaking, building community, and making creative work sustainable. She holds a certification in Liz Lerman's Critical Response Process. Her background is in both creative and administrative work, having taught and directed throughout the Phoenix area, and previously serving as the Director of Development for Childsplay in Tempe.

Mary is a native Phoenician whose theatre life started just a few miles away from °µTV at St. Mary’s High School. She directed The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard as her senior thesis and designed Another Part of the Forest by Lillian Hellman for her graduate thesis. Other credits include: designing and directing Dear Brutus by J.M. Barrie and In the Shadow of the Glen by John Millington Synge, and set designs for This is Our Youth, Picasso at the Lapine Agile, A Christmas Carol: The Musical, The King and I, Camelot, Pippin, Wiley and the Hairy Man, and Lysistrata. She has worked at multiple of the MCCC campuses but has been happily stationed at °µTV since 2011.
